Brutus' tragic flaw was making bad judgments. After Brutus had given a reasonable speech convincing the people Caesar had to die for he was an ambitious man, but being nave he left to many holes in his explanation. He believes that only his death would save him from such danger and agony. "These many men shall die; their names are pricked." His tablet of death, containing all the people who contributed to, or were involved in the conspiracy, shows his irrational anger towards the conspirators, not love for Caesar. A tragic hero is defined as a character of high standing who has a flaw that leads to his or her downfall, this individual is enlightened of his or her mistakes and is often viewed with pity or sympathy by the audience.
Brutus wouldn't betray the trust of an honorable man (and he knows himself to be one and he assumes, fatally, that he can hold Antony to the same standard). He only sees the good in others thus underestimating the threat that others pose.
